Today, we signed a cooperation agreement with the Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia, which supports the Estonian activities of the Estonian Refugee Council with one million dollars. The activities will run until the end of January 2023.

According to the representative of the association, Andrew H. C. Lee, international cooperation and people helping each other is essential in difficult times: “We need to show empathy and solidarity to overcome the difficulties together.” The donation is a joint contribution by the people of Taiwan and the government to support the people of Ukraine.

According to the representative of the Taipei Mission in the Republic of Latvia, they were looking for a cooperation partner whose activities are efficient and meaningful. “The Estonian Refugee Council operates professionally and has a wide network of contacts, thanks to which we can be sure that the donation will be used in the best possible way,” said Andrew H. C. Lee.

Jüri Jaanson, Chairman Support Group for Estonia-Taiwan in the Parliament of Estonia, and Sander Andla, adviser to the Reform Party’s faction, also participated in the signing of the agreement at the Estonian Refugee Council in Tallinn.
