On 20 June, from 2 to 5 p.m., Estonian Refugee Council will celebrate World Refugee Day in Tondiraba Park, Tallinn, with a vibrant youth event in support of all refugees who have been forced to leave their homes.
At the youth event, participants can test their physical and mental skills in an outdoor game organised by the IZUMI Youth Club. There will also be active games and activities led by Tallinn Youth Centres, music played by a DJ, and a fun language-learning game to practise Estonian!
The Integration Foundation will also be present to introduce the Settle in Estonia programme. A striking graffiti artwork will be created on the substation located in the eastern part of the park (Tähesaju tee 25).
The event is free of charge and open to everyone, regardless of language skills. Come make new friends, take part in fun games, and witness street art being created before your eyes!
Gathering begins at 2 p.m. at Varraku Street 18, in the western part of the park near Lasnamäe Ice Park. Join the Facebook event here.
World Refugee Day is observed globally on 20 June to recognise and value those who have had to flee their countries due to conflict, persecution, or natural disasters. On this day, we reflect on their stories and celebrate solidarity.
The event is supported by the City of Tallinn and organised in cooperation with Tallinn Youth Centres, the UN Refugee Agency, the IZUMI Youth Club, and the Integration Foundation.
